MMI Employee Assists CT DEP with Salmon Release
4/08/2010
MMI employee James Murac assisted Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection staff and five other volunteers with stocking over 30,000 young Atlantic Salmon fry in the Eight Mile River in Lyme, Connecticut for the Spring 2010 season. The volunteers hiked approximately 6 miles of river seeking out ideal salmon habitat and spread out the thousands of fish along the river, with the expectation that less than 1% of those fish will return to the same reach of river to spawn as adults in 2011.
