Milone & MacBroom has designed over 100 miles of bikeways, greenways, and multi-use trails throughout New England and the eastern seaboard. We are valued for our ability to help counties and municipalities realize their visions and provide healthy recreational opportunities or transportation alternatives that preserve and enhance the vitality of each community. We have developed solutions in environmentally sensitive riverine corridors and pastoral landscapes, along abandoned railroad and canal corridors, and in suburban neighborhoods and centralized urban downtown areas. Our bikeway systems provide safe and convenient routes to rail stations, schools, parks, places of employment, and other community points of interest.
Milone & MacBroom has worked closely with state transportation departments to coordinate planning, design and construction in order to meet funding requirements for bikeway and greenway facilities. The firm was responsible for preparing the master plan and contract documents for the Farmington Canal Greenway in Cheshire, Connecticut, which was the first ISTEA-funded greenway and became a model for subsequent facilities in Connecticut.
