Mr. McDermott joined Milone & MacBroom, Inc. in early 1988, bringing expertise in landscape architecture and land use planning into the fold. It is through Mr. McDermott's expertise that the firm has successfully integrated the concepts of landscape architecture with engineering. Mr. McDermott holds a BS in Plant Science from the University of Connecticut and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts.
Over his more than 40-year career, Mr. McDermott has served various roles in the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, has been the Chair of the Connecticut Board of Landscape Architects, and is a past president and currently active member of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB). Mr. McDermott grew the firm’s landscape architecture group to a staff of over 12 licensed landscape architects before stepping down from day to day operations of the group in the early 2000's.
He currently provides technical oversight and quality control for all of the firm’s landscape architecture projects. He also manages the firm's marketing efforts.
