- Evalutation of the Environmental Effects of Synthetic Turf Athletic: (December 2008) Vincent McDermott, FASLA, Senior VP and Scott Bristol, LEP of Milone
& MacBroom, Inc., co-authored several papers/reports that
summarized the analysis of a variety of in-situ tests conducted on
synthetic athletic fields in Connecticut in an attempt to contribute to
the discussion regarding potential risks to the environment and human
health associated with such facilities, laboratory tests at the
Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) raised a number of
questions concerning the safety of such fields. As a company that
advises clients and designs athletic fields using both natural grass and
synthetic surfaces, Milone & MacBroom, Inc. believed that it would
be prudent to undertake some first-hand observations and to become more
confident that published literature was applicable to synthetic surfaces
in the northeast.

- Handbook of Water Sensitive Planning and Design: (Lewis
Publishers, CRC Press LLC, 2000) James MacBroom, co-founder and Senior
Vice President of Milone & MacBroom, Inc. was a contributing author
to this book, chapter “River Restoration Planning.”
- The River Book: (CT DEP Bulletin 28; 241 pages; Hard Cover -1998) Authored by James MacBroom, co-founder and Senior Vice President of Milone & MacBroom, Inc. This educational manual was published to help guide local communities and design professionals in understanding riverine functions and establishing appropriate management strategies. James MacBroom and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection were awarded the “Tom Lee Award for Excellence” from the Association of State Floodplain Managers for The River Book.

- Ashokan Watershed Conference, Flood Resilience for Towns, Businesses and Landowners - Kingston, New York: (April 2011) James MacBroom, co-founder and Senior Vice President of Milone & MacBroom, Inc., presented "Planning for Stream Response to Increased Rainfall". The Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program promotes a coordinated approach to stream
protection and management within the Ashokan Reservoir Watershed, which
covers portions of Ulster and Greene Counties in New York. The program is a collaborative effort of New York City DEP, Cornell
Cooperative Extension of Ulster County and Ulster County Soil and Water
Conservation District.
- 5th National Conference on Coastal and Estuarine Habitat Restoration - Galveston, Texas: (November 2010) Shawn Goulet, Water Resource Engineer of Milone & MacBroom, Inc.presented at the "Preparing for Climate Change: Science, Practice, Policy" conference. Shawn's presentation outlined the history of the Bronx River and Milone & MacBroom, Inc.'s involvement in the design of fish passage alternatives for the Bronx River Alliance.
- “Walkable Urban Thoroughfares” - Rocky Hill, CT: (October 2010) Tom Harned, Transportation Planner of Milone & MacBroom, Inc. presented at the Institute of Transportation Engineering where he presented a session looking at principles and applications of complete streets in Connecticut and in other parts of the country.
