MMI Designs Route 67/Grove Street Intersection in New Milford

Due to an increase in the frequency of accidents, as well as highway and intersection capacity, the town of New Milford and Connecticut’s DOT retained Milone & MacBroom Inc. services to assist in the planning and design of relocating the Grove Street intersection with Route 67 in New Milford. This work required 1,200 linear feet of new roadway construction, intersection realignment, widening, signalization, and reconstruction of 1,000 linear feet of existing roadway. Permitting and safe fish passage was an important consideration for this project, as it involved the relocation of Great Brook. Milone & MacBroom, Inc. was successful in obtaining all the necessary permitting to continue with the construction portion of this project, and after a lengthy planning and design process construction was completed in fall 2010.
