MMI Designs Synthetic Turf Field

Milone & MacBroom, Inc. has been retained by the Town of Cheshire to provide engineering and design services for the conversion of their premier varsity natural turf field to a new synthetic turf field. The installation of the new 80,000 square foot facility will also include a full synthetic turf D-zone at the north end of the field and a new all-weather EPDM track surface at the south D-zone.  With the inclusion of a new track edge drain system, the playable surface will be expanded from 180’ to 195’, allowing for CIAC varsity level soccer competition for the first time.  Should funding permit, the town intends to perform a full replacement of the rubberized EPDM surface on the entire track.  Construction is expected to begin in August 2011.
