Shanahan Field at Choate Rosemary Hall Recognized

We are
pleased to announce that Shanahan Field at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford,
Connecticut is being recognized by the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA)
as a winner in the Multi-field Category annual awards program. The project
included the construction of two illuminated synthetic turf fields by FieldTurf
designed to accommodate lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and football. Milone
& MacBroom, Inc. was responsible for the planning, design, permitting and
construction administration of both fields and the associated site work.
The design emphasized fitting the fields to existing site conditions, allowing
spectator seating to located on terraces surrounding the fields enhancing the
spectator experience. The site contractor was RAD from Rockland, Massachusetts.
“We have
designed many collegiate and scholastic athletic projects,” said Vincent
McDermott, Senior Vice President, “but this project was special from the
very beginning. We were fortunate to have had a client that had the vision and
the resources to develop an outstanding athletic facility for its athletes that
rivals NCAA fields and a very experienced contractor who paid great attention
to details in implementing our plans. We are proud to have been part of
such a successful project.”
The award
will be presented at the ASBA annual meeting in December.
