Milone & MacBroom, Inc. is providing land use permitting, design, engineering,
and construction phase services for a 6,000,000 s.f. waterfront development consisting
of 4,000 residential units, retail, and office space on approximately 80 acres,
some of which is a brownfield site.
The project is located on the former Pitney Bowes, Admiral’s Wharf, and Yale & Towne
industrial properties adjacent to the Stamford railroad station.
The first phase of the project includes construction of three new buildings with
associated parking, site work, and utility relocations in the Harbor Point Square
and Harbor Point Park areas of the project. Limited waterfront improvements are also
contemplated as part of Phase 1.
Milone & MacBroom, Inc. is involved in:
- Layout of buildings, parking, roads, and walls
- Design of storm sewers and stormwater management facilities
- Design of all site utilities including an extension of the sanitary sewer and water mains, as well as other on-site utilities such as telephone, cable, electric and gas
- Preparation of a Sediment and Erosion Control Plan
- Team Coordination relating to environmental remediation
- Local and Federal permitting
- Public Outreach
This “Smart Growth” project, one of the largest in the United States, is being hailed as a model for job growth, environmental sensitivity and traffic reduction. The project is expected to take 10 years to complete.

Project Location: CLEMSON, SOUTH CAROLINA
Project Cost: $450,000
Milone & MacBroom, Inc. was retained by the City of Clemson to provide consulting
services for the design of the Catherine J. Smith Plaza project. The project is located
on a portion of Jaycee Park in downtown Clemson where the newly realigned Edgewood Avenue
meets College Avenue.
The project’s main features include a multilevel fountain, public plaza, stage and seating.
The area provided opportunities for donor contributions of various components including
brick pavers. The area is extensively landscaped and irrigated providing a unique public
space in the heart of Clemson’s central business district.
