Coastal Planning & Design

Resiliency: protecting resources & restoring use

A regional leader in coastal planning & design

Our work helps communities plan for optimal use conservation and protection of their coastal resources. We focus on the promotion of water-dependent uses, provision of public access, protection, and restoration of tidal wetlands and coastal ecosystems, appropriate coastal land use, improvement of coastal water quality, and planning for more resilience shorelines in the face of climate change and sea-level rise.

Our areas of expertise

Coastal services include planning and design for local and state governments and non-government organizations and industries. Our coastal planning is further divided into coastal land-use planning such as municipal coastal programs and local waterfront revitalization plans and resiliency planning, which includes sea-level rise. Coastal design services include green solutions such as living shorelines, bioengineered banks, gray/green approaches, and hard structures such as seawalls and bulkheads.
