About Mike

Mike is the Director of Planning for MMI's public, private, and educational planning and development projects. Since 2000, he has assisted 50+ communities on a variety of projects, from demographics and land use to comprehensive plans, and he understands the complexity of modern planning projects, balancing input from many stakeholders, managing project dynamics, and fostering public involvement. He has designed and implemented GIS-based demographic models for school systems and various public and private clients and has been actively involved in a variety of community planning assignments, including the preparation of community comprehensive plan, housing studies, residential and commercial market studies, and projects requiring revitalization, redevelopment, and reuse planning. Mike's extensive experience serving as a facilitator for the firm’s public planning processes includes school redistricting, facility master plans, and community comprehensive plans. He has been a presenter and panelist at regional American Planning Association conferences and statewide panel discussions.


With both an M.S. and B.S. in Environmental Science, Mike is a Certified Planner by the AICP and is certified by the National Charrette Institute for designing public outreach processes and workshops. In addition, Mike is an active member of:
