Leading the design from master plan through construction

What we faced

The high school athletic facilities were past their life expectancy and in dire need of reconstruction in order to improve player safety, expand physical education programs, and provide a venue to meet current standards for scholastic athletic competition.

The result

Due to the project's size, including the complete renovation of the locker and team room facilities, the project adhered to the MGL Chapter 149 bidding requirements, and was completed within budget. The reconstructed athletic facility is a true testament to the collaboration of the design team of landscape architects, engineers, planners and the community.

Facility improvements include the following

Six new post-tensioned concrete tennis courts with basketball accommodations
New synthetic track
New synthetic turf field with new field lighting system
New multi-use natural grass athletic fields & irrigation
New girls' softball field, dugouts & scoreboard
New baseball field, dugouts, fencing, batting cage & scoreboard
New stadium scoreboard and sound system
New 1,500-seat bleacher system with two-story press box
New boys' & girls' locker rooms
New ticketing / concession / restroom / satellite trainers' room & three-bay storage facility
New accessible parking, decorative site lighting & entrance
Connection to new town bikeway
Milone & MacBroom and Town staff worked closely to ensure the Agawam High School Athletic Facility project would truly be an asset to our community and a lasting source of pride. The successes we have experienced together are due to the teamwork approach your firm brought to the project, the attention to detail, and hands-on service oriented approach of your project team.
